BIO
THE BENNIESは、2009年に結成されたオーストラリア出身の４ピースSKA PARTY PUNKバンド。
オーストラリアのレーベルBRIDGE SOUNDSを通じてDOINGLIFEと出会い、2010年には彼らとジャパンツアーを行った。更に単独でシンガポール、マレーシアにも渡り、ライブを敢行。
オーストラリアの各地では１５０以上のライブを重ね、国際的なバンドであるAGGROLITES, LEFT OVER CRACK, STREETLIGHT MANIFESTOのサポートも努めた。
2011年にはJACKKNIFE MUSICより 1st アルバム”PARTY!PARTY!PARTY!”をリリース。
2012年にはBRIDGE SOUNDSより、THE BENNIES日本初EPをリリース、そして再びジャパンツアーも予定している。
The Bennies (formerly Mxdonnx) are a four piece band from Melbourne. Inspired by The Clash, Sublime and Rancid,
The Bennies consider themselves a party band. Elements of hip-hop, psychedelic, metal and pop also influence the band into their own fun loving style.
Although the punk/ska genre may sometimes be considered dated, The Bennies breathe life into the style by performing with extreme energy, enthusiasm and an unbashful love to party. Their line-up is guitar, bass, drums, microkorg and the singer utilizes delay vocal effects as well. Their bouncy bass lines, fast high-hats and filthy synth noises are an undeniable homage to the club scene.
The lyrical content is all night-life loving and good times rolling.

Way….way….way back in September 2011, The Bennies launched their first full length album PARTY! PARTY! PARTY! at Gertrudes Brown Couch in Fitzroy. A full room, complimentary party packs, balloons, quality supports, all made for an amazing event. If your memory of the night is as hazed as ours, we hope this short video (edited by the talented David Beaumont) will help you to revisit what has been branded as Melbourne’s Party of the year 2011.
Be sure to thank David for his fine skills, just don’t raise your voice at him while he’s in a taxi.

Its looking like a massive 6 months ahead for The Bennies with loads on their plate!!! After much anticipation, Bridge Sounds is proud to announce the official release of the Bennies EP “JAHPAN”. To be made available exclusively in Japan (and JAHPAN ONLY), the EP packs 6 tracks of signature party punk/ska goodness. With the final touches being made to the BONUS POSTER included inside, the release will be on sale toward the end of April.

Amongst the mayhem, the band have somehow managed to find the hours to head back into the studio to commence the recording of their second full length album!!! Set for release in August, The Bennies aren’t giving too much away as to what to expect. Take a look at the video below as Craig, Anty and Souv lay down some Korg to a somewhat familiar tune….

The Bennies dropped into the Southern FM 88.5 studio last week for an acoustic session on Ska’d For Life, a weekly community radio show dedicated to Jamaican, 2 tone, and present day ska sounds. Craig requested Blind Melon. Click on the photo below to view video of the boys playing an old tune of theirs “Blazing Saddles” recorded live to air!
The word on the street is that the Bennies are set to return to Japan for a SIX city tour in the later half of this year. Very exciting stuff!!!
